Truckin On is a 2 Disk game requiring 2 drives and at least 1meg of memory. The main disk is self booting and cannot be accessed through the WorkBench. It is written entirely with Amiga Basic and utilises many of the machines Library Routines. It is a 2 player game with the object to make more money than your opponent over a given time period. Each player is allocated $10,000 to start a Truckin Company. The main playing board consists of a map of Australia, Simulated Time display, Stockmarket Graph, Stop/Start button, Truck Sales button, Company Office button and a Bank button. The Stop/Start button must be coloured green before access is allowed into the other sections. This can be activated at any time but will only activate when all trucks have travelled their required distance for that hour. Truck Sales:- Are only open between 7am-9pm Monday(2) to Saturday(7). Here you can buy Old Trucks, Second Hand Trucks, New Trucks or Sell your truck. Note only 1 money transaction allowed per player for any 12 hour period. Company Office:- Here you can adjust the speed of a truck during the trip or check a trucks whereabouts and current load. Bank:- The bank allows a player to pay off a mortgage or apply for a mortgage. Also PLAS will give a block graph account of the current progress and Balance will give a numeric account of same. Buy shares allows the player to maybe increase his assets via the Stock Exchange but shrewd business sense must be used. The Stock Market hrs are 7am-5pm Monday(2) to Saturday(7). 12hours must elapse before re-entry to the Stock Market is granted. All contracts, truck prices and shares are valued according to the present state of the stockmarket, so a shrewd player may wish to lay his/her truck up rather than take a sub-standard contract. A knowledge of the trucks capacity and fuel consumption is required and this can be obtained at the relevant truckyard. Also an indication of the trucks mileage capacity is indicated at the Service Station. Their are a number of pitfalls which may be encounted on the road but these are self explanatory and require little reference. If a trucks condition reaches BELOW 58% it may be pulled over for a R.W.C. and if found to be dangerous the cargo will be off loaded. The speeds indicated are average for the entire trip and anything over 60 may infringe on state limits. The record so far is to turn $10,000 into assets of $1,000,000 in less than 10 weeks, if anyone can improve on that they should be with Allen Bond. Have fun Ron Lewis.
