This disk was produced by Martyn of 17 Bit and created using Newtek's Digiview (PAL) a RCA high-resolution security camera and the resultant images were toyed with via the brilliant PHOTON PAINT by Micro illusions. Digiview currently only supports input from video cameras although you can feed it the output from a video but you are unable to capture colour images from this source. The camera itself HAS to be a black and white high resolution camera if you want to get anything near GOOD results! You CAN use a colour video camera but don't expect terrific results. The unit is rather small and looks not-a-lot for a lot of money! If fits nicely into the parallel port of the Amiga (along with a gender changer if using an A500 or A2000). The only input is for the video camera's lead. <*>More The image is captured by 'digitizing' three seperate images, the Red content, the Green content and then the Blue content. This is achieved by rotating a colour filter wheel in front of the camera. When all three images have been taken, the program will merge them together to create a final colour image which can then be saved to disk in the standard I.F.F. format. Digiview works in the following modes (memory permitting)... Lo-Res Up to 4096 colours 320x256 (PAL) Med-Res Up to 16 Colours 640x256 (PAL) Lo-Res Interlaced (4096) 320x512 (PAL) High-Res 16 colours 640x512 (PAL) Medium & High Res are best suited to producing Black & White digitized images (especially high res ones - the image is superb (although it does use a lot of disc and machine memory! (128K)) <*>More WHAT CAN YOU DO WITH THE IMAGES ? The images produced are compatible with any third-party paint package (inc Dpaint/Photon Paint/DigiPaint/Photolab etc) and therefore you can shrink them, recolour them and do just about whatever you want with them! See the demo pictures for examples of our messing with Photon Paint! Obviously you could use digitized images for some excellent effects especially in demos/ads etc The best quality HAM images (4096+ shades of colour) are obtained using the Lo-res interlace mode - although some pictures will tend to flicker on some monitors/tvs and especially Amigas with 512K. This can be overcome by converting the pictures to non-interlaced so you do lose a little on resolution but save on flicker and memory/discspace! <*>More 17 BIT DIGITIZING SERVICE 17 Bit are proud to announce that we are now able to provide a digitizing service for 17 bit members, for a fee of 7.95 we will digitize 6 items for you, and convert these into any resolution/screen mode you wish B&W included. We can provide digitized images in any of the modes we have mentioned although we do reccomend lo-res interlace mode for best results and hi-res for B&W images. We will compile the pictures and put them on a slideshow and obviously once you reveive them you can do with them whatever you like! Price for people who have bought this disk from 17 Bit - 6.95 Price for non-members 9.95 which includes free membership to our club and our latest disk update/magazine. <*>More Please don't hesitate to call our office for details on the service! As far as giving a guide as to what type of material you can send in, the larger the better and the glossier the better - thats what gets best results! Photos are OK but we prefer things just bigger than the size of say a Compact disc or about as big as an A4 page, but these are just what we prefer - we'll attempt anything but please remember to state which screen mode/how many colours you would like the subject digitizing in! As far as subject matter is concerned thats up to you! Martyn, 17 Bit. Contact us on 0924 366982 Mon-Sat 9am-5.30pm (END OF MESSAGE)
