....You can freely interchange the disk device names with logical volume names from DOS, BUT you may not have any spaces in the volume name if you want to reference the volume name from BASIC.... ....DOS will search the current directory for a command before resorting to SYS:C to get it, BUT BASIC knows whether or not SYS: is mounted and does not bother to even look in the current directory on the mounted floppy for the DIR command....
